Panama La Vieja
Panama La Vieja (NOT Old Town Panama) are ruins of the Old Panama City which where destroyed by Captain Morgan a couple of centuries ago.
What's left is available for people to see.
There are some relicts of the old city left, but nothing much to be honest. The highlight is the four story tower which can be "stairwayed" to the top.
If you are Panamanian you are lucky the entry is just about 3$.
For a foreigner it's about 8$ for the park and 12$ for the Package (Park and Museum)
You get an entry bracelet and tickets for the museum, which you never have to show.
Insider Tip To Save Money
Some people just casually walked in the park without knowing that you have to pay, as there is no gate or something similar. We did the same but where stoped by the trolly driver and were sent to the small counter on the side of the Museum to pay the entry. But the bus driver was the only one who controlled the people. And after he had enough people to drive around there was nobody else there and people just walked in without knowing that there was an entry fee, and of course not paying anything.
Talking About Bus
There is a little tourist bus covering the distance from the museum to the tower with a stop in the middle.
Of course to get in to the pockets of the tourists they put two little Museums at the entry, which honestly were more practical because they have ACs in it, rather than being exciting or very informative.
There is a big parking lot right at the museum (See Map below)
All In All
A nice walk through a park, with some ancient ruins, so e ice pictures and a great view from a big tower. Nothing more, nothing less.
