Reserva Ecologica Ojos Indigenas
The best things you can do in Punta Cana are the natural experiences.
Top of my list is Reserva Ecologica Ojos Indigenas.
Crystal clear waters in many natural pools.
A must see if you are in Punta Cana. (Bring Mosquito repellant).
Getting Here (Have your Passport ready)
You get here by car or with one of the tours.
If you make the trip by yourself you drive to the checkpoint of the Punta Cana Resort. The Punta Cana Resort holds Golf Parks, a Horse Ranch and The Ojos Indigenas.
After showing and handing out your Passport or ID Card for a laminated tourist card. You drive to the Ojos Indigenas. Don't mistake the Horse Ranch for the Ojos Indigenas which will appear on the righthand side before the Ojos Indigenas.
After passing the Horse Ranch, you will drive for 2-3min more and see a parking lot on the righthand side (west Side).
West Side Plants
On the west side of the park you will find the main house where you can buy the tickets. If you continue to the west, there are many paths where you can see a lot of trees and flowers. Either you take a segway or you go by foot.
East Side Crystal Clear Waters
But the more interesting trail is over the street where you came from. There is a small entrance house. This is the start of the clear blue water hole trail.
The Trick With The Segways
No segways are allowed here, so my tip don't rent a segway for the not so interesting westside of the park. This can be a bit of a ripoff. But you can book day tours where you visit Playa Blanca and much more with a Segway and an ATV...
After The "Entrance House" To The Magic
You walk for 10min to the first hole. After that there are many more water holes and they only get more beautiful. You can swim in the water if you want to. Many holes have entrance ladders or wooden stairways.
Remember where you came from. There are not many trail signs.
We arrived at about 4PM (I think at 5PM it's closed.)
So we were completely by ourselves and had to see for ourselves how we got out again.
This required drawing an arrow in the dirt to know where we came from. So be aware of that.
For me one of the most magical experiences on the island.
