Santa Catalina is a remote rural town in the south of Panama. The town hosts lots of tourists and surfers.
There are many surf schools in the area.
Just a great place to decompress.
Do You Know That Feeling?
To best describe the feeling being here is: Try to imagine hearing loud music for an hour and then switching it off. That's exactly the feeling you get here all day long.
If you read a little bit on this website you know I am not the one that just hangs out and does nothing. This place however forces this mentality on you, in a very good way. The remoteness, the kind of people here and the vibe of the nature is magically relaxing and beautiful.
Perfect to just live every day like it is, surf a little and let your body recharge from all the stress in our daily lives.
How To Get Here
Because it is a vacation place and the main hub for the tours to the Coiba Island (Isla Coiba) there is a regular bus coming down to Santa Catalina from Sona. You get to Sona from Santiago. If you have a car there is a pretty good road coming from the Panamerican Highway (Highway1). There are some bad parts of the road but all in all the streets are pretty good.
Amazing place to learn surfing, or even for advanced surfers, the waves just get bigger the further you go out.
An magical place to decompress.
