In my opinion the second best waterfall experience in Jamaica next to Dunn’s River
Falls. A great experience and very organized. A couple of
waterfalls and waterholes to swim in.
You cannot climb the waterfalls, not like at Dunn’s River Falls.
But there is a bigger jump 15ft (5m) and a rope.
How to get here:
You can drive by yourself to the YS Falls entry, there is a secure parking lot.
Insider Tip: Watch out! The road to the YS Falls suddenly gets very bad about 1/2mile
(800m) before the parking (See my Map below). If you drive through there, full
speed without knowing, you probably will blow a tire. Entry will cost 20$.
After entering the entry-house, you are not at the waterfalls. You are on sort of a “bus
station”, where a tractor will pull a passenger wagon to the top of the little
hill, where the waterfalls are. So if you forget something in the car, it’s a
pretty long way down and up again.
Zip Line (or they call it Canopy)
This is the most exciting Zip Line I ever saw, even better than Punta Cana (DR)
The Zip Line starts at the top of the stairways. It has three different platforms after
that to Zipline from. One leads straight over the waterfalls another one is between
the the trees to the main platform which will take you all the way through the
park. The only downside, it costs a Staggering 50$. I didn’t do it and would certainly
not do it for 50$. Maybe you can get a better price by talking to the people
who offer the Zip Lining next to the waterfalls. They are in a little wooden
house at the first waterfall.
There also is a fresh water pool at the bottom of the park, with wooden sunbeds. Almost nobody
used them when we were there, but we went around 10-11AM, maybe they will be occupied
in the afternoon.
Go early to get to the waterfalls in the morning/noon and then chill on the sunbed
in the afternoon, while more and more people are coming in.
There is a small and pretty expensive restaurant on the bottom. I believe there are no restaurants on the top of the hill by the waterfalls.
If you want to stay on the YS Falls the whole day, either you bring your own food, or you arrive around noon, eat first in the small restaurant at the entry house and then go up to the waterfalls with an already filled stomach.
A great nature
experience, not too much action so very kids friendly. If you obey my Insider
Tips you can spend a whole day here jumping in the water, relaxing at the pool
and enjoying the beautiful nature around, for just about 20$.
